Directions from I-81
– Take Exit 118 to reach the exit ramps for all three of the exits at this location. There is only one exit ramp serving the exits; missing the ramp means a trip north to Exit 128 or south to Exit 114 to turn around.
– Take Exit 118B onto U.S. 460 West. Follow the signs for Blacksburg/Virginia Tech.
– Stay on U.S. 460 West, signed for “Virginia Tech, Bluefield” to continue directly to the university.
– Drive for 2.5 miles on U.S. 460 to the traffic light at VA 314, Southgate Drive. Turn right onto Southgate Drive. There is a campus map a quarter-mile on the right and the Visitor Information Center is a half-mile from U.S. 460 on the right.
– Take your first right onto Tech Center Drive. You will pass the Parking Services Building on your left and the Burrows/Burleson Tennis Center on your right. At the top of the hill turn left into the parking lot, you can see the field from the parking lot. We are the field on the bottom platform, in the back.
Notes for visiting teams
There is usually enough car parking at the Health and Safety building and the car park above. If not, you can use the lot just below and walk up to the fields. Please do not drive your vehicle down to the field from the upper car park. This is reserved for game managers and emergency vehicles.
We would ask that all teams use the benches on the far side of the field. This is to ensure that players and spectators are on opposite sides of the field. During the game, please ensure your players (not on the field) stay on your side of the pitch. This also applies to coaches; one coach may stand in front of the rope but he is asked to stay on your side of the field. Teams are responsible for the conduct of all players on the north side of the field. Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and no player is allowed to enter the field of play unless authorized to do so by the match official(s).
Everyone is reminded that alcohol is not permitted on Virginia Tech Recreational Sports facilities. Anyone caught with alcohol or suspected of trying to conceal alcohol will be asked to leave the Virginia Tech campus.
Your help in trying to make Virginia Tech a great venue to play rugby at is gratefully appreciated.
